What you need to know for today's Bix road race

RACE BY THE NUMBERS:

8 a.m.: Time the race begins today

13,711: Number of registrations

6:30 to 7:30 a.m.:  When people still can pick up their registration packets at the RiverCenter, 136 E. 3rd St., Davenport.

WEATHER: The National Weather Service, Davenport, reports that at the 8 a.m. start of the 7-mile race there will be comfortable dew points in the middle 60s and a temperature of 73 degrees. Plenty of sun is expected the rest of the day with a high temperature in the middle 80s. There is an 8 percent chance of rain and northwest winds are forecast to be at 5 mph.

AFTER YOU RUN: 

- The Wells Fargo Street Fest goes from 10 a.m. to midnight today and offers food, live entertainment, arts and crafts and a video game tent along 2nd Street between Brady and Ripley streets. Music line up includes The Fry Daddies, Identity Crisis, Ellis Kell Band, The Blue Band and Wicked Liz and the Belly Swirls. The family stage will feature local dancers, clowns, a juggler and more. Admission is free.

- The Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival will host 10 of the nation’s top jazz bands in four venues around Davenport today and Sunday. Venues include Modern Woodmen Park, River Music Experience, The Col Ballroom and The Clarion Hotel. For more information, visit bixsociety.org/festival.
