At 7:45 a.m. Bill Hoffmann of Aledo is running in his 29th Bix. He’s 59 years old and expects to finish in the high 50s. He says the race is great for the Quad-Cities but remembers the days when there were fewer people and the race was less commercial. “It’s lost some of its uniqueness.”
