LeClaire: First RAGBRAI cyclist arrives shortly after 7 a.m.

LE CLAIRE, Iowa -- The last day of the RAGBRAI ride turned out to be the best day for Richard Varn, his wife, Kari Holth, and Dr. Jack Sebben. The trio arrived in LeClaire shortly after 7 a.m.
Varn, of Des Moines, was the first to dip his tire in the Mississippi River.
“It was a beautiful ride. That asphalt is amazing,” he said.
His wife said, “It’s over. I’m sore. I don’t have to sit on a bike seat tomorrow.”
Sebben, who lives in Sacramento, Calif., grew up in Iowa.
“For me, I like to come back and see all those little towns,” he said.
