The three Bix runners that were transported to the hospital have been treated and released, Genesis Medical Center spokesman Craig Cooper said.

The three were transported by ambulance from the medical tent near the race finish line to the  East and West campuses of Genesis. Two were treated for dehydration and extremely high core body temperatures, while a third was observed for an apparent heart ailment.

Also treated and released Saturday were at least two riders from RAGBRAI. Cooper said the bicyclists’ injuries were minor.
