Good morning, Quad-Cities. At 6:14 a.m., it’s 74 degrees under foggy skies with 94 percent humidity. Today we can expect a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1 p.m. with a high near 87 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. For the weekend, Saturday will be sunny with a high near 86 degrees with a 30 percent chance of showers overnight. Storms will carry over into Sunday with a 30 percent chance of rain and a high near 87 degrees.

One year ago today, the Interstate 35W bridge in Minneapolis buckled and fell into the Mississippi River. Thirteen people died in the accident. Today, the bridge’s replacement is nearly finished, but the investigation is not. Read the stories of the survivors and the investigators as they continue to deal with this tragedy.

Fair days

The Mississippi Valley Fair continues today with Jason Aldean in the grandstands this evening. The show begins at 8 p.m. The fairgrounds are located at 2815 W. Locust St. in Davenport.
