One woman was injured Saturday night after a rock that Davenport police believe was launched by a slingshot pierced a window on a casino bus she was riding.
The incident occurred at 12th and Harrison streets at 10:26 p.m.
Davenport police Sgt. Mike Colclasure said the rock went through the back passenger side window of the bus that carries patrons of the Isle of Capri and Rhythm City casinos.
The bus was headed southbound on Harrison when the rock hit the vehicle at 12th Street, he said.
The driver of the bus, Buster Clark, said there were two couples on board the bus.
“It sounded like a shotgun blast to the back end of the bus,” Clark said. “I’m glad it wasn’t.”
A woman on board received some glass shavings in an eye, and was cared for by Davenport firefighters and medics with Medic EMS ambulance, Colclasure said.
Police were searching nearby streets for possible suspects late Saturday.
