Moline police are investigating an armed robbery of the Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard that occurred tonight at 8:21 p.m.

The store is located just west of the Wal-Mart in Moline just off John Deere Road.

Police said there were two employees on duty at the time of the robbery, but did not know if any patrons were in the store at the time.

Police would not confirm the type of firearm used in the robbery. Area police were asked to be on the lookout for a man with a slender build. The alleged robber wore a mask, and was wearing blue jeans, a blue jean jacket and carrying a black duffle bag.

East Moline’s police dog “Ivan” was called in to track the robber.

The robbery cost the convenience store a good amount of business as patrons who came up to buy gasoline and other items were turned away.
