Arsenal Quarters 1 tours continue

Public tours of historic Quarters One at Rock Island Arsenal are being offered on third Saturday monthly beginning Aug. 16 and continuing Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 20.
Tours last one hour and begin every half-hour from
9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 1:30 p.m. Tours are limited to 25 participants and reservations are necessary. Tour takers can enter Arsenal Island via Moline or Davenport entrances; Rock Island entrance is closed on weekends. Visitors over age 16 must have photo identification.
Quarters One is not handicapped accessible, and visitors must be able to climb stairs. Strollers are not allowed; children must be accompanied by adults and supervised. Parking is available along Gillespie Avenue. Reserve a tour at www. ria.army.mil/ sites/pa%5Ftours/, or call (309) 782-3488 and leave a message. Registrations are taken in the order calls are received.
