Robber hits Davenport gas station

Davenport police are investigating a late-night robbery at a gas station.
Police were called at 11:53 p.m. Wednesday to Hy-Vee Gas, 2353 W. Locust St.
A masked man entered the station and displayed what appeared to be a rifle or shotgun wrapped in plastic. He demanded that cash be placed into a bag and fled on foot. He possibly got into a dark-colored car and left eastbound on Locust Street.
There were no injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
