A “warrior rock,” signed by  dozens of injured veterans who received care through the Rock Island Arsenal’s Community Based Health Care Organization, will be put on display at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport.

Soldiers adjusting to life back in the U.S. and coping with various injuries began signing the 2-ton boulder when the program kicked off.

The rock, which currently sits in front of the CBHCO office on Arsenal Island, is now full. Arsenal officials felt displaying it in a more public setting would be a fitting tribute the wounded soldiers injured during overseas deployments.

The rock will be moved today and placed in temporary storage until a permanent display location is ready at the ballpark.
