A Davenport man was being held late Sunday in Scott County Jail, where he faces charges of hosting a drug house.

Charles Phillips, 60, of 121 W. 8th St., Davenport, was taken into custody shortly before 2 a.m. when Davenport Police officers served a search warrant at his residence.

Inside, officers discovered paraphernalia, including a razor blade, two crack pipes and packaging material that police said normally is used to purchase, cook and ingest crack cocaine. They also discovered 1.0 grams of crack cocaine under Phillips’ bed.

Phillips admitted to police that he regularly allowed numerous people in the residence to cook and smoke crack cocaine. He also told police he is the only person who lives there.
