There are several problems at both ends of the Centennial Bridge which contribute to speed issues.

Lane markings are absent on each side just past the bridge entrance. At the Davenport end, a 30 mph speed limit sign needs to be placed at the entrance to the bridge. The center lane divider needs to be raised; attaching striped

rubber posts would be economical.

Police officers need to travel from both sides regularly. Rock Island needs to fix its merging traffic lane to Davenport.

Responsibility for bridge maintenance belongs to the Illinois Department of Transportation and Rock Island.

Providing clear markers may encourage drivers in both Rock Island and Davenport to obey speed limits.
