In the aftermath of the recent flood, the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Society was advised by the city of Davenport that LeClaire Park would not be available for our most popular venue. The River Bandits stepped up to the plate and General Manager, Kirk Goodman, made Modern Woodmen Park available, and hit a home run in the minds of our many Bix patrons.
The cooperation and assistance of Kirk and the ballpark staff made it possible for the 37th annual Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Jazz Festival to be a success.
It was a pleasure to be associated with such a community-minded organization.
