Bring on the Davenport bike lanes

We were happy to read the editorial about the city adding bike lanes on Jersey Ridge Road and Marquette Street. (“A welcome sign,” Aug. 11)
These bicycle lanes are good for the environment and good for the health and safety of our community. As well as good for the pocketbook.
We congratulate our Sixth Ward alderman, Jeff Justin, and the aldermen who support this positive and forward-thinking initiative. Many Quad-Citians, young and old, are pleased about the prospect of connecting up the Davenport bike paths, and using them safely.
