Lately, I’ve been recalling the lines of an old popular tune: “What a difference a day makes, just 24 little hours.”
Such a day is approaching. On Nov. 4, people will have the opportunity to change the future of this country and the world. They will also have the responsibility of electing a new leader and supporting him in the attempt to repair the incalculable damages caused by the present administration.
One candidate, Barack Obama, offers hope of accomplishing such an onerous task. Study the life, writings, and beliefs of this man. Do not be fooled by the opponent’s charge of inexperience. Does experience overcome lack of intelligence?
For too long, we, the people have allowed the principles of the Constitution to be ignored and violated. Too long, we have allowed the decimation of the social progress achieved by the struggles of our ancestors.
Remember, the real power lies in the ballot box, not in the board room.
Do you hear the echo of the 1960s’ “Power to the People?”
