Camanche garage fire damages houses

A late-night fire in Camanche, Iowa, damaged a garage, two houses and a fence.
Volunteer firefighters from the Camanche Fire Department responded to a call to 431 15th Place at 9:28 p.m., Monday. When firefighters arrived they found the unattached 2-car garage engulfed in flames.
The blaze was brought under control in about 10 minutes.
No one was injured in the fire.
Fire officials say the fire caused an estimated $20,000 in damage to the garage and $10,000 in damage to the adjacent house. There also was $15,000 in damage to the neighboring house and garage as well as $10,000 in damage to a fence. Firefighters remained on the scene for two hours.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The American Red Cross is assisting residents of the house.
