The Quad-City Steamwheelers are expected to announce the transfer of operating control from Friday Night Football Inc. to A&J Football Inc. at a Monday news conference in downtown Moline.

A&J, a group headed by Alan Millage and Joe Sisler, had been expected to assume majority control of the franchise last year. For undisclosed reasons, that never quite happened.

Outgoing partner Mike Bawden on Thursday declined to discuss specifics, but did indicate he expects Monday’s announcement to all but complete his two-year tenure at the helm of Friday Night Football and the team. He also indicated the new majority owner-operator will be A&J Football.

Team general manager Shawn Brown confirmed a transfer of ownership was on Monday’s agenda but wouldn’t identify the parties involved.

He did indicate additional partners will be involved in the new operation.

“We will bring you up to speed on Monday and introduce you to some people you don’t know,” he said.

The new group would be the fourth owner-operator in the team’s decade of operation, following groups headed by Bawden, Larry Busch and Jim Foster.
