The Alzheimer’s Association will offer a training class for professionals, “Advanced Topics in Alzheimer’s Care,” from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sept. 16 and 8:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 17 at the Moline Public Library, 3210 41st St.
Attendance on both days is preferred, but participants may opt to attend one day or the other. The presenter is Jerry Schroeder, program specialist with the Alzheimer’s Association.
The curriculum meets the annual training needs of staff working in care facilities. The cost is $75 for day one and $50 for day two. A grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health allows people working in Illinois designated special-care units, sub-state nursing home ombudsmen staff and volunteers, and Illinois state nursing home surveyors to attend for free.
All participants will receive a scripted manual, PowerPoint slides and handouts. Fees include lunch on day one and continental breakfast both days. Continuing education units are available.
For more information or to register, call (563) 324-1022.
