Davenport police are looking for a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident Thursday morning involving a student on his way to school.

Police said the accident occurred about 8:55 a.m. at Northwest Boulevard and 56th Street.

A 13-year-old boy riding a bicycle on his way to Wood Intermediate School was struck crossing the roadway at the pedestrian cross walk. The driver of the vehicle ran a red pedestrian crossing signal and hit the student. It then left the scene heading south on Northwest Boulevard.

The boy was taken to Genesis Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Police are looking for a mid- to late-1990s white passenger car, possibly an older model Honda Accord with the box-style tail lights. The vehicle should have some front-end damage, possibly to the grill area.

Police with information about this accident should contact police at (563) 328-6762.
