GENESEO, Ill. — Construction work at the intersection of Illinois 92 and Illinois 82 five miles north of Geneseo will begin Monday, weather permitting, the Illinois Department of Transportation said.

Davenport Electric Contract Company is starting the $37,764 contract to make safety improvements at the intersection.

The contractor will be installing a flashing beacon above the stop sign, rumble strips in the pavement for the Illinois 82 traffic that is approaching the stop sign, and luminaries to help identify the intersection.

Drivers are asked to slow down and drive carefully through the construction zone.
