Visiting the homeless offers insight

I witnessed something which saddened me and made my heart feel heavy.

A friend of mine suggested hanging out with some homeless men. Being inquisitive and curious, I was all for it. I thought I could handle it.

What I saw were beer cans scattered everywhere, clothes in bags, and it looked like these men have not bathed in a long time. And John Lewis is closing its doors? Why, when these people so desperately need help?

But how do you help someone who doesn’t want help? Who wants to live a life of not knowing where they are going to get their next meal, and not knowing what is going to happen?

They are lost souls, and I said a prayer for being blessed with what I do have.

Instead of waking up tomorrow and groaning and moaning about how life is so unfair to me, I am going to appreciate what I have.

Out shopping as soon as the stores opened.

Took my time and went shopping later in the day.
    Did all my shopping online.
