A pulmonologist with Trinity Pulmonary Medicine will host an online discussion Thursday morning during the weekly “Health Chats.”

Dr. Badar Kanwar will answer questions posted online at the Quadsville Web site. He’ll focus on lower respiratory diseases including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD. According to the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta, these illnesses are the fourth-leading killers of Americans today.

Kanwar, of Rock Island, is board-certified in pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine and internal medicine. He completed his residency at the University of North Dakota and a fellowship at Creighton University. Professional interests include asthma and COPD.

To participate Thursday in the online session: call up the Quadsville Web site at quadsville.com. Look in the left-hand column for a blog post with the title, “Live Chat: Respiratory disease with Dr. Badar Kanwar.” After you open the post, a “chat window” will be activated at 9 a.m. Type in your name and question in the appropriate fields, and hit “send.”

Moderator Melissa Coulter will slot the questions into the online discussion, so they may not immediately appear. After the session ends, it can be replayed at any time so viewers can read what was discussed.
