Moline police have obtained arrest warrants for two men who are believed to be connected to the Sunday robbery of the Gasland convenience store at 4100 Avenue of the Cities.
Moline police Lt. Jerome Patrick said two men went into the business wearing Halloween masks. One of the men displayed what is believed to be a long gun while the other man jumped the counter and pushed the clerk to the floor.
Wanted in connection with the robbery are Amadou Ndiaye Sall, 21, aka “Slim,” and Amadou Makhtar Niang, 23, aka “Jamal.”
Amadou Sall also uses aliases of Seydou Nourou Sall, Seydon N. Sall, Sall N. Seydon and Ngounda Fall.
Amadou Niang has ties to Iowa City and Chicago.
Neither man has a permanent address, Patrick said.
The men are believed to be driving either a maroon 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis with Illinois temporary registration 509J935, or a maroon Chevrolet Lumina with an unknown Illinois registration.
Both men are charged with armed robbery, a Class X felony under Illinois law that carries a prison sentence of six to 30 years. The arrest warrants for the men have nationwide extradition. Bond has been set at $150,000 each.
Anyone with information about the robbery of the whereabouts of Amadou Sall or Amadou Niang is asked to call the Moline Police Department at (309) 797-0403 or Crime Stoppers of the Quad-Cities at (309) 762-9500.
