Davenport City Administrator Craig Malin has appointed Dennis Ryan, the city’s water pollution control manager, as interim public works director.

Ryan, a 25-year veteran of the department, is filling in for the departing Dee Bruemmer, who is taking her administrative expertise to Scott County as the new administrator.

Current Compost Facility Manager Scott Plett, will serve as the interim water pollution control plant manager in place of Ryan. In addition, Marcia Mount, the compost supervisor, will fill in for Plett.

“Supervisors throughout public works will be stepping up in the months ahead as the city recruits for new personnel,” Malin said.

Malin said he hopes to set up interviews in December and early January for three jobs: public works director, city engineer and capital improvement program manager.
