Accidental deaths are the fifth-leading cause of death for all Americans, regardless of gender.

Dr. Joseph Lohmuller, general surgeon and medical director of the trauma program at Genesis Medical Center, Davenport, will host an online discussion on the topic at 9 a.m. today on quadsville.com.

Lohmuller graduated from Indiana University Medical School and completed his residency at Mayo Medical School, Rochester, Minn. His accomplishments include a medical mission trip to treat the impoverished residents of Arequipa, Peru.

To participate, call up the Quadsville Web site at quadsville.com and look at the blog post with the title, “Live Chat: Accidents with Dr. Lohmuller.”

When you open the post, you will see a chat window that will be activated at 9 a.m. Simply type in your name and question in the appropriate fields, and hit send. Moderator Jim Gale will slot the questions into the online discussion, so they may not immediately appear.

After the session concludes, the chat can be replayed at any time so viewers can read what was discussed.
