UPDATED: Rock Island police have charged three women from the Illinois Quad-Cities in the theft of scrap metal early today.

Police discovered three adult women loading about 20 pieces of scrap metal into their car about 3 a.m. from E&J Metal Co., 200 24th Ave.

Gail Irene Jacobsen, 43, of 830 I Ave., East Moline, was charged with criminal damage to property, criminal trespass to land and theft more than $300, a felony.

Tracey A. Herrera, 43, of 335 3rd Ave. Court, Silvis, was charged with criminal trespass to land and theft more than $300, a felony.

Ashley Lynn Jacobsen, 22 of 457 15th Ave., Rock Island, was charged with criminal damage to property, criminal trespass to land and theft more than $300, a felony.

EARLIER STORY: Rock Island police have charged three women in the theft of scrap metal early today.

Police discovered three adult women loading about 20 items of scrap metal into their car about 3 a.m. from E & J Metal Company, 200 24th Ave.

The three have been charged with felony theft, criminal damage and criminal trespassing. Their names were not being released by police early this morning.
