Augustana alumnus Jeff Patneau will be remembered at a 10 a.m. memorial service Saturday in Ascension Chapel, 820 38th St., Rock Island. Patneau died from complications after he was injured in an armored car accident in Yemen.

Patneau, a 2005 graduate working for the American Embassy, was riding in an armored car that was broadsided Sept. 28.

He suffered a fractured skull, was flown to a London hospital, but died without regaining consciousness on Oct. 4.

His two-year assignment in Yemen was nearly complete, and he was expected to be reassigned. Patneau is survived by parents Bob and Dawn Patneau and two siblings, formerly of Hampshire, Ill., but now living in Lexington, N.C., where funeral services are pending.
