Botanical Center hosts October Garden Festival

Demonstrations and entertainment will be the focus of the October Garden Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Quad-City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Ave., Rock Island.
Demonstrations and displays include scherescnitte paper art, kids’ crafts, beer, candle and soap making, honey and beehives, cast-iron cooking, quilting, spinning, mud painting and basket weaving. A dairy calf and antique tractors will be displayed, with programs scheduled at noon, Kickapoo (American Indian) presentation; 1 p.m., Double W Dancers; 2-4 p.m., barn dancers with Joe Nobeling. Fall crafts and food from Hy-Vee grill will be for sale.
Cost is $5 for adults and free for children 12 years and younger when accompanied by a paid adult. Visit qcgardens for more information.
