A Florida man has been charged with illegal gambling activity at a casino in Riverside, Iowa.

The incident occurred about 5 p.m. Friday.

According to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, or DCI, Riverside Casino surveillance personnel observed what appeared to be suspicious activity by a gambler and alerted DCI agents on-duty at the casino.

Jose Polanco-Osvaldo, 25, of West Palm Beach, Fla., was observed entering the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort and allegedly engaged in illegal gambling activity. He was arrested and charged with prohibited gaming activity, a class D felony, for cheating at the roulette table.

DCI agents worked with surveillance and security personnel at the casino, and identified three additional individuals, also suspected of conspiring in this incident. The identities of the other three suspects are being withheld pending the outcome of the investigation.

Details of the scam are not being released in order to maintain the integrity of the roulette table game play at the casino, as well as other casinos in Iowa and surrounding states.
