A Sterling, Ill., teen faces numerous charges stemming from reported damage to several properties — including a house fire and fire set to Halloween decorations — Monday night.

Aurelio A. Mancera, 17, was charged with two counts each of aggravated arson, a class X felony; residential arson, a class 1 felony; arson, a class 2 felony; and criminal damage to property less than $300, a misdemeanor. He also was charged with possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

The charges are a result of a series of complaints.

Mancera is being held in Whiteside County Jail pending a court appearance. The investigation is ongoing with additional arrests anticipated, Sterling police said in a press release. Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact Sterling police at (815) 632-6640 or Whiteside County Crimestoppers at (815) 625-7867.
