Child, youth and school services parade Wednesday

Rock Island Arsenal’s Child Youth and School Services will conduct a Fall Festival Parade at 11 a.m. Wednesday starting at Arsenal Fire Department, traveling east on Rodman Avenue and ending at East Street.
The parade celebrates child and youth service programs offered on Arsenal Island and includes staff and children of RIA Child Development Center and School Age Center, Fire Department, Marines with Toys for Tots program, Santa mobile, a float, clown and other groups.
Joel Himsl, garrison manager, will serve as grand marshal; and various characters including Clifford the Big Red Dog, McGruff the Crime Dog, and Smokey the Bear will march.
